Telling stories is an art. With the right tools, you have the power to take anyone on an adventure with their own imaginations!
There are valuable skills to be learned by becoming a good storyteller: memory, focus, improvisation, acting, projecting your voice and, of course, confidence. With televisions, video games and decreased family interaction than ever before, storytelling is a dying art – and we want to save it!
We can provide you with 130+ stories, categorized by theme and vetted for appropriateness, which will be suitable for any camp.
The themes are as follows:
The stories have many unique qualities:
- They have all been tested with kids.
- They include no magical problem solving, enhancing the idea that it is you that matters, not luck or magic.
- All avoid subjects such as suicide, death, violence and sex.
- They are all pro-social.
Many of the stories also come with notes to help you learn the story effectively!
NB: Although many of the stories we include in our list are public domain, some are still under copyright. You'll still get the full story text with an additional agreement to buy the (valuable and useful) story book used (usually for only a few dollars).
