Fire Spinning - Staff

Spinning a staff is not just about lighting it on fire. It can be easily combined with other martial arts to improve coordination, and many campers who have worked with a baton will find this to be a new and challenging progression.

We’ve created a program that will show you how to teach your staff the basics and we aim to assist you in progressing to a point where you will be able to teach this skill to your campers. We have tried and tested lesson plans in order to maximize the learning potential of your campers – it’s even likely that you will see your campers progress far beyond your own skills!!!

Campers will learn an incredible amount of coordination from spending time practicing this art, and may even make up their own moves before long!

We believe that teaching campers to respect fire, handle it safely, and even learn how to be a “safety” (a useful pair of eyes to help spot any potential hazards) for their friends is far healthier than fearing it. There is so much more to be taken from staff spinning than just learning the art.

We’ll also include a fire-safety manual, information on how to construct a safe and exciting performance with a group of campers, details on how to make your own practice staffs and fire staffs, and purchasing information.
