Sword Fighting & Quarter Staff - Discover what you get

Whether you are looking at starting a sword fighting program, or improving one you already have, this package is for you.

This package has everything we have to offer, to assist you in developing a quality sword fighting and quarter staff program, or make your existing one more exciting and fresh.

There are other options to creating your own sword fighting and quarter staff activity, and we’re not claiming to be offering you something that you couldn’t get from elsewhere. We aim to offer you the 21 years of valuable insight and experience, from Dr. Randall Grayson, which will help you eliminate potential mistakes and provide you with an activity that has a working balance of safety, fun and learning.

What you could do:

  • Hire someone to create a sword fighting activity from scratch. This will take approximately 100hrs+ of work at roughly $10 per hour, and from free resources you will only find about 20% of what we can provide you with. You will need to:
    • Research many sword fighting resources: online, in books, publications, videos.
    • Search for equipment online, in local stores, trade magazines, camp conferences, neighbor camps, etc.
    • Create your own lesson plans.
    • Trial and error the equipment and activity to find out safety points and logistical considerations.

NB: It’s very difficult to find free resources on the web for sword fighting, and those which you will find are not great sources of information. We take from German, Italian, English, standard fencing and Samurai techniques and hold safety as our number one priority. If using free resources please be sure to assess the risks involved and make sure you have the necessary equipment before teaching sword fighting to campers.

NB: The DVD program available from Sport Sword doesn't offer as much instructional resources as we do, or other variations to the sport such as our unique version of the Battle Royale, and many of our other games. They also chose to instruct with a rounded, softer sword, making it very difficult to implement a more-accurate sword training program.

There are other options are available to you, as you have seen above, but it is our hope and intention that in finding the path to success, we can pass our tested knowledge on to you (much of it unavailable elsewhere).
