Starting a staff activity at your camp? Or looking to progress towards introducing fire performances with your existing skills?

We can provide you with everything we have learned to help you to build a safe and sound staff spinning program, either with fire, or without.

We do not assume that you could not create your own staff spinning program. All of the information is out there, whether it be in written or video form, or whether it requires your time and efforts to discover it through trial and error. What we are offering you is valuable insight and experience which will help you eliminate common mistakes and provide a staff activity that has a working balance of safety, fun and learning.

What you could do:

  • Hire someone to create a staff activity from scratch. This will take approximately 30hrs+ of work at roughly $10 per hour, and there is a LOT of information out there to sort through. You will need to:
    • Research many staff spinning resources: online, in books, publications, videos.
    • Search for a variety of equipment online, in local stores, trade magazines, camp conferences, neighbor camps, etc.
    • Create your own lesson plans.
    • Trial and error the equipment and activity to find out safety points and logistical considerations.

NB: Please remember that spinning with fire is a beautiful art-form which can potentially be very dangerous if the necessary procedures are not in place. If you are researching and setting up your own fire performance activities, we strongly encourage you to seek professional advice from a fire-spinning organization before attempting to use fire yourself or with campers. You will also need to talk to your insurance company directly before implementing this activity, whether you purchase our package, or do your own research.

  • A one hour telephone conversation with a member of our staff, well-versed in the program, to help you adapt it to your needs and answer any questions.
